Laser resurfacing has been said to be “the mother of all chemical peels.” This ultra effective treatment works by directing short, concentrated, beams of light at irregular skin, precisely removing skin layer by layer.

Laser resurfacing is an aggressive therapy for aging skin that requires approximately two weeks for recovery. Since this particular procedure can be painful, our staff will apply topical numbing medication prior to the procedure.

Many skin conditions can be addressed with this technique. Fine lines and wrinkles can be smoothed out and nasolabial folds can be minimized. We can even soothe acne scars, redness, and pigmented lesions.

While treatments can help minimize the signs of aging and sun damage, they cannot halt the process. Optimal results can be maintained with follow up treatments every 6-12 months and a daily sun protection. Ask us about our sun protection products from Annmarie, Turo, SkinMedica, and Jane Iredale. We have many safe, convenient, quality products that can help moisturize and protect your skin.

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Resurfacing?

Laser resurfacing is not recommended for olive, brown or black skin as pigmentation can occur.

Does the Procedure Hurt?

Yes, but we apply topical numbing medication so there’s no pain felt during our procedure. Afterwards, the skin may be raw, scabbed and tender for up to 3 weeks.

What Is the Recovery Like?

Patients should expect 10-14 days of acute healing with complete healing at 3 months. All patients must use sunscreen after the procedure and should continue doing so for at least 12 months.

What Are the Risks?

Abnormal color changes, burns or injuries from the laser heat, cold sores, infection, and scarring are some of the complications that can occur with laser resurfacing.

Is Financing Available?

Yes, our staff will be happy to assist you in applying.

Are the Results Permanent?

The results are long lasting; however, we are not able to stop the aging process. Damage can recur as you continue to age but our knowledgeable staff can instruct you on proper skin care and product selections.
